Beautiful Rug Runners To Add Class To Your Home

Rugs can add a special touch to any room in your home and your entry way and hallways should be no exception.  There is no reason why you should ignore these high traffic areas simply because they are not a designated or “livable” space in your home.  Generally, it most houses a two story entry way is followed by a hallway leading to the kitchen, family room area or dining room.  A way to spruce up this small enclosure is to add a beautiful rug runner.  These runners can add softness to a hardwood floor and can be a nice welcome into a room. Often time’s hallways can be a bit dark without any windows to lighten them up, so a lightly colored runner can bring a sense of warmth and comfort to a darkened space.

Keeping a specific color trend throughout your home lends to a feeling of cohesion as one room nicely blends into the next.  A runner can help to achieve this and tie one room to another.  You do not have to have identical color choices for each room, of course, but having similar color choices in such things as rugs, pillows, draperies and accessories can help to add a nice blending between rooms in your home.  Using a neutral colored rug with splashes of color here and there can make even the most boring of hallways and entryways really pop and stand out.  If your hallway is relatively long, make sure that you do not get a runner that is too short.  Ensuring that the rug is as long as your hallway is will help elongate the walkway and have it not appear so closed in.

You can find rug runners in many places.  Of course, specialty rug and carpet stores will have a large variety of fine quality runners, but they will also come with a hefty price tag.  If you do not wish to spend a large amount on your rug, you will be able to find them at a number of less expensive shops like Wal-Mart.  You can even find some nice runners in second hand stores donated by people who may have just wanted an upgrade on their rugs.  They may be in perfect, usable condition and you will only have to pay a few dollars for them!  If you purchase your rugs at Wal-Mart or Target, they will not be as good of quality as you would find in specialty stores, but with proper care, they will be able to last for quite a while.
